MOTD; Jaclyn Hill Thanksgiving Makeup Recreated

JH-ME2

Hi guys! Thanks for coming back! So this weekend, I was catching up on my YouTube girlfriend’s videos that I haven’t seen, and there was one in particular that spoke to me! Jaclyn Hill uploaded a ‘Thanksgiving Day Glam’ makeup look on her channel, and seeing as I had some free time this weekend, I decided to recreate it!

This was the inspiration:

Here is my recreation of this look:

Obviously, I didn’t have all of the same products that Jaclyn used, but I used similar products to achieve a similar look! Here is the makeup that I used to create this:

Primer: Makeup Forever Step 1 Mattifying Primer & Benefit The Porefessional
Foundation:  L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation in Shell Beige
Concealer:  Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla
Powder:
To Set Base:
Maybelline Matte and Poreless Pressed Powder in 220 Natural Beige
To Set Concealer: Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette in Levitation and Lyric (The banana and light pink shade)
Bronzer: Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette in Shadowplay
Contour:  Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette in Subconscious

KVD-Palette
Brows: Gerard Cosmetics Brow Bar To Go (In the Darkest Brown shade)
Eye shadow: Jaclyn Hill Favourites Palette by Morphe – A cool toned brown, the emerald green, and the shimmery orange shade

JH-Palette
Mascara: Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara in Black
Blush: A coral/pink shade from the Niagara College blush palette
Highlight: Carli Bybel Palette by BH Cosmetics – The light pink highlight shade

CB-Palette
Setting Spray: L’Oreal Infallible Makeup Extender Setting Spray
Lipstick: Gerard Cosmetics Nude lipstick with ‘Shimmer of Hope’ lipgloss

I am super happy with the way it came out! I tend to use cooler tones because I don’t really like the way warm tones look on me, so the transition shade that I used was much cooler than the one Jaclyn used. Also, the lipstick that Jaclyn used in her video was a super orangey colour that she topped with a pink gloss to tone down the colour. I had the perfect lip combo to dupe this look – my all time FAVOURITE cosmetic company, Gerard Cosmetics! The nude lipstick is WAY too orangey for my skin tone, so I never wear it, but for this look it was perfect. And in order to make my lips look glossy and to mask the orange colour, I used Shimmer of Hope, which is a really light pink colour.

What do you guys think? I feel like maybe I will be doing more of these types of posts; Trying to recreate some of my favourite looks from YouTube. I love the challenge and trying out new techniques and looks! What are some of your favourite YoutTube looks?

I hope you like this post! Thanks for reading!
